What can I split an Excel file by?

Pick any column as the split key: rows with the same value are grouped together, and blank values go into a "(Blank)" group.

Do I get multiple files or multiple sheets?

Both are supported: one workbook containing multiple sheets, or separate Excel files packed in a ZIP.

What about illegal characters in sheet or file names?

Illegal Windows filename characters are cleaned automatically, and duplicate group names are numbered for you.
