SheetCraft · User Guide
100% in-browser processing · Your files never leave your browser
No sign-up, no installation. All Excel parsing and computation run locally in your own browser.
- Online: https://sheetcraft.top (mirror: sheetcraft-chenjw2.vercel.app)
- Supported formats:
.xlsx/.xls(the format converter also supports.csv) - Version: v0.3.0 (all 10 tools live) · Updated 2026-10-03

How Every Tool Works
All 10 tools follow the same 4-step flow:
- 1Open a tool: click the matching card in the tool gallery on the home page.
- 2Drop your file: drag an Excel file into the dashed drop zone (or click to browse). Files are read locally only.
- 3Configure: once the file is uploaded, the config panel expands automatically (pick target columns, output mode, etc.).
- 4Process & download: click the start button; the result panel on the right shows stats and details, then click the download button to save the output file.
Processing runs in a background browser thread (Web Worker), so even large files won't freeze the page; the button shows a loading state with progress while it runs.
Scene 01 · Merge Excel Files
Batch-merge multiple Excel files into one master sheet — perfect for consolidating monthly or branch reports that share the same structure.
Steps
- 1Go to
/merge-exceland drag multiple files at once into the drop zone (multi-select supported). - 2Choose a merge scope:
- Merge all sheets from all files: every worksheet in every file is included;
- Merge only the first sheet of each file: best when each file has a single data sheet.
- 1Click Start Merging, review per-file stats and warnings on the right, then click Download merged result (.xlsx).

Processing rules
| Rule | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Headers | The first row of the first valid sheet becomes the master header; header rows of the other sheets are skipped |
| Empty rows | Fully blank data rows are ignored |
| Extra columns | Sheets with more columns than the header keep the extra columns (header left blank) and raise a warning |
| Bad files | Unparseable or empty files are skipped with a warning in the result panel |
| Formula cells | Exported using their computed values |
The output file has a green header row, a frozen first row, and auto-fitted column widths.
Scene 02 · Split Excel Files
Split one large sheet into many smaller sheets by the value of a column — e.g. split a national sales table into one table per region.
Steps
- 1Go to
/split-exceland upload one Excel file; headers are read automatically. - 2Pick the grouping column in the split-by column dropdown (e.g. "Region").
- 3Choose an output mode:
- One file with multiple sheets: one worksheet per group;
- Multiple files in a ZIP: one xlsx per group, downloaded as a zip.
- 1Click Start Splitting, confirm the group stats, and download.

Rules: rows with a blank split-by value go into a "(blank)" group; illegal characters in sheet/file names are sanitized and duplicates get a numeric suffix.
Scene 03 · Format Conversion
Convert between .xlsx, .csv, and .json — handy for data exchange and system integration.
- 1Go to
/convert-exceland upload a source file (xlsx/xls/csv). - 2Pick a target format (the source format is excluded automatically).
- 3Click Start Converting; the result panel previews the first rows, then download.

Tip: exported CSV files include a BOM so they open in Excel with correct Chinese characters; JSON output is an array of objects keyed by the header row.
Scene 04 · Extract Numbers from Text
Batch-extract the numeric part from text like "Order 123" or "Amount 45.6".
- 1Go to
/extract-numbersand upload a file. - 2Pick the target column.
- 3Click Start Extracting; numbers are written into a new column, then download.

Scene 05 · Extract Phones / Emails
Batch-extract contact info from the whole sheet and append it as new columns.
- 1Go to
/extract-contactsand upload a file. - 2Choose a mode: phone only / email only / both.
- 3Click Start Extracting, review the stats (rows matched / items extracted), and download.

Phone numbers follow the Chinese 11-digit standard; emails match standard protocol rules.
Scene 06 · ID Card Info Extraction
Batch-validate Chinese ID card numbers and extract age and gender — ideal for cleaning HR rosters.
- 1Go to
/idcard-toolsand upload a file. - 2Pick the target column containing ID numbers.
- 3Click Start Validating; the export adds three columns: validity, age, gender.

Validation uses the ISO 7064:1983 MOD 11-2 checksum; age is computed from the birth date against today, and gender from the parity of the 17th digit.
Scene 07 · Cross-Sheet Deduplication
Remove duplicate rows by a "unique key column", keeping the first occurrence.
- 1Go to
/remove-duplicatesand upload a file. - 2Pick the unique key column (primary key).
- 3Click Start Deduplicating; the result panel shows original / kept / removed row counts, then download the deduplicated sheet.

Scene 08 · RMB Capital Words
Batch-convert amounts into formal Chinese RMB capital words (壹贰叁…角分整) for reimbursements and contracts.
- 1Go to
/rmb-capitaland upload a file. - 2Pick the target column with amounts.
- 3Click Start Converting; a new "RMB capital" column is added to the export, and rows that can't be converted raise a warning.

Scene 09 · Simplified / Traditional Chinese
Convert the text of an entire sheet between Simplified and Traditional Chinese while keeping the cell structure intact.
- 1Go to
/chinese-converterand upload a file. - 2Choose a direction: Simplified to Traditional or Traditional to Simplified.
- 3Click Start Converting, confirm the converted cell count, and download.

Scene 10 · Compare Excel Files
Find the differences between two versions of a sheet: automatically detect added, removed, and modified rows, and generate a color-coded comparison report.
Steps
- 1Go to
/compare-exceland upload the old version on the left and the new version on the right. - 2Pick the key column shared by both files (used to match the same row, e.g. employee ID or order number).
- 3Click Start Comparing; the result panel shows counts for added / removed / modified.
- 4Click Download comparison report (.xlsx); the report contains three sheets:
- Added rows (green font)
- Removed rows (red font)
- Modified rows (changed cells highlighted yellow, old values in cell comments)

FAQ
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All parsing and computation happen in your browser's local threads. You can verify this in the Network panel of your browser's developer tools: no file upload requests are made during processing.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no server-side limit — you are only bounded by your browser's memory. For everyday use we recommend files under 50MB; the page stays responsive while large files are processed (Web Worker background computation).
Does any data linger after processing?
No. File contents only live in the current page's memory and are fully released when you close or refresh the tab; refreshing means uploading again.
Browser requirements?
The latest Chrome / Edge / Firefox / Safari are recommended. Internet Explorer is not supported.
Where do result files go?
Downloads are saved by your browser to the local "Downloads" folder, named SheetCraft<scene>_<date-time>.
